"The Murder Case of the Witch in Red" tells the story of a series of murders that occurred in Jiangcheng: three women were killed one after another. They were all wearing red dresses when they died. The ends of their eyes were painted with red makeup that resembled devil's horns, and the same crow with a rose brooch was left in their pockets. Interpol Lin Mo led a team to investigate and found that the case was related to the unsolved case in which the "Red Witch" hacker tampered with the medical records of a rich man and caused his death last year. The brooch and special symbols all pointed to the connection.
As the investigation deepens, clues point to the abandoned red church, where the deceased received anonymous red dress packages six months ago. Lin Mo's team gradually uncovered the truth: the murderer Chen Xi took revenge in the name of the "Red Witch" because the victim or her relatives had harmed her family (such as taking away gems, plagiarizing works, causing a fire that killed her father, etc.). But there is another hidden story behind the case. Gu Yan, the director of the hospital's surgery department, was the manipulator behind the scenes. He used Chen Xi to eliminate the insiders who illegally buried medical waste back then, and he also committed many crimes himself.
In the end, Gu Yan was engulfed in flames in the Red Church, and Chen Xi was arrested, but the story was not over - there was a seventh target on the list that had not yet appeared, the shadow of the real "Red Witch" still shrouded Jiangcheng, and the conspiracy behind the murder was far from over.
