The Red-Clad Witch Murder Mystery

The Red-Dressed Witch Murders tells the story of a series of killings in Jiangcheng. Three women are murdered one after another, each dressed in a red dress, with red makeup painted at the corners of her eyes to resemble a demon's horns. In each victim's pocket is an identical brooch depicting a crow holding a rose. Detective Lin Mo leads the investigation and discovers a connection to last year's unsolved case involving the “Red-Dressed Witch,” a hacker who altered a wealthy man's medical records, causing his death. The brooches and a distinctive symbol point to a link between the cases. As the investigation deepens, the clues lead to an abandoned red church. Each victim had received an anonymous package containing a red dress from the church six months earlier. Lin Mo's team gradually uncovers the truth: Chen Xi, calling herself the “Red-Dressed Witch,” is taking revenge because the victims or their relatives had once harmed her family, whether by stealing a gemstone, plagiarizing a work, or causing a fire that killed her father. But there is more to the case. Gu Yan, the hospital's chief of surgery, is the real mastermind. He used Chen Xi to eliminate people who knew about the illegal burial of medical waste years ago, and he himself committed numerous crimes. In the end, Gu Yan is consumed by flames in the red church, and Chen Xi is arrested. But the story is not over: the seventh target on the list has yet to appear, the shadow of the true “Red-Dressed Witch” still hangs over Jiangcheng, and the conspiracy behind the murders is far from over.
