"Liaocheng Strange Bridge" is based on the true legend of the Seventh Bridge in Liaocheng, southern Henan, and uses half a century of obsession as its blood to unfold the fishy ukiyo-e of water. A snake-shaped mark appears on the neck of delivery rider Chen Mo on a rainy night, and he is destined to take over the red rope of the bridge guard - what was suppressed under the bridge was the last words of Wang Jianjun, a steel bar worker who sank into the river in 1968; in the whirlpool where the dragon sculpture disappeared, there was floating the skirt of a mysterious girl whom the old vegetable seller had met; the teeth marks on the necks of the drowned every year turned out to be the unhealed scars bitten by history on reality.
In the story, there are dead souls who hold up river lanterns, bridge guards who hide their names in cotton seeds, and Tang Dynasty soldiers who turn into snakes to guard their messages. When the demolition team's drill pierced the bridge pier, the sleeping dragon sculpture opened its eyes in blood, and the forgotten names - Zhang Guilan's blue cloth shirt, Wang Laizi's jujube stick, and the residual red of Wang Ge's motorcycle taillights were connected to form a bridge on the top of the waves.
This is not a simple fantasy. When Chen Mo planted kapok seeds in the ruins of Xinqiao and thought about the inscription on the stone tablet, "Where blood stains turn into flowers, years are like a human being.", He realized that all mysterious legends are the result of ununderstood human hearts; all supernatural protections ultimately point to simple beliefs - if the bridge is irregular, the river will be unrest, and if the heart is not sincere, the soul will not be at peace.
The river of history still flows, carrying cotton seeds, paper ashes and sighs under the bridge piers. Are you ready to step on this bridge?
