Told from the perspectives of a mother and daughter. Shen Linlang narrates the early part, while Lin Chengyu takes over later.
The Lin family has three daughters and no sons. Lin Ruhai dies at the same time as in the original. Shen Linlang can return to the modern world later on. The eldest Lin daughter enters the palace, while the second goes into business and later joins the Ministry of Revenue. Jia Min's death remains unchanged.
