Conquering the Underworld: From Crime Lord to Emperor

Time period: A young man from the modern era transmigrates into the parallel-world Great Chu Dynasty, reminiscent of China's Song and Ming eras. Imperial power is waning, powerful clans are carving up the realm, and underworld forces are stirring beneath the surface.

Setting: The story begins in the area around Wangjiang Tower in Jiangnan, a region crisscrossed by waterways and thriving with trade, where rival gangs have deep roots. The story will later expand to the capital and other prefectures.

Background: The Great Chu Dynasty appears peaceful, but is beset by troubles at home and abroad. Eunuchs wield unchecked power and the imperial examinations are rife with fraud, while the Northern Di stand poised to invade.
