Ling Jue is the son of a wealthy family, raised from childhood to inherit Xiguang Company. In private, he is an esports enthusiast and often hangs out with Lin Nan, Sheng Guanxin, and a few other friends at Night Owl Internet Cafe. He keeps up the appearance of a rich playboy. In his second year of middle school, he goes to Laihaiba with his cousin and meets Mu Zhixu, who is singing there. He develops feelings for him that are different from ordinary friendship. Two years later, he sees Mu Zhixu again at his senior’s internet cafe and learns that he is the younger brother of his senior, Mu Zhilang, and that the bar they visited back then belonged to Mu Zhixu’s family.
After transferring schools, he becomes Mu Zhixu’s classmate. Over their two and a half years of high school, Ling Jue goes from misunderstanding him to realizing he likes him, getting close to him, and becoming his teammate, friend, and best friend.
The night before Mu Zhilang’s engagement, Ling Jue’s family tells him to go abroad to study. In a bad mood, he drinks to get drunk. Seeing him like that, Mu Zhixu recalls how excited Ling Jue had been when he saw Mu Zhilang, along with the rumors he had heard, and mistakenly thinks Ling Jue really is in love with Mu Zhilang.
When Ling Jue asks Mu Zhixu out, Mu Zhixu warns him not to interfere with his brother’s relationship and admits that he does not really understand why someone would like a man.
The night before university begins, Ling Jue leaves without saying goodbye. It is not until his second year that Mu Zhixu learns Ling Jue had been in love with him all along. He waits for six years.
Six years later, Ling Jue has inherited Xiguang Company and returns home to find Mu Zhixu, only to be told that Mu Zhixu is engaged…?
