I, Roguset, Start Absorbing Energy on Earth

When the dark purple mist in the Mariana Trench first devoured the volcano's energy, humanity had no idea they were about to welcome a "god" that fed on despair.

Lin Mo, an overworked office drone who died suddenly, woke up as the lingering soul of the cosmic calamity Luguset. Starved of energy, he could only cling to life amid Earth's disasters: absorbing raging currents in the eyes of hurricanes, lapping up the trembling crust in earthquake zones, and sipping human fear after tsunamis.

He was a festering sore writhing in the deep sea, a rainbow dragon flickering into view in a sandstorm, a colossal, colorful thing worshipped by the Scarlet Church. Twelve meters, thirty meters, seventy meters... His height slowly recovered amid calamity, while humanity's faith and despair became his finest nourishment.

"This is a trial sent down by the gods!" the survivors prayed amid the ruins. None of them knew that the being they worshipped so devoutly was already watching the coordinates of the next disaster.

The probes of the Iron Dome Consortium flashed in orbit: "Target energy reserves at 3%. Form restored to 40%... Recommendation: destroy Earth."

Lin Mo beat his newly formed energy wings, the emerald-green core reflecting the whole Blue Star. Don't rush me. Once I've grown back to 77 meters, this planet will make the perfect appetizer.
