Luo Xiaohei's Teenage Troubles

Wuxian had never wondered what Xiaohei's teenage years would be like.

That was only natural.

Yaos age and grow at a different rate from humans.

In just over a decade, humans can grow to twice their childhood size, study geometry and learn to calculate angles with auxiliary lines, read Old Stories of the South of the City, start falling for classmates of the opposite sex, and push back more against their parents' rules.

But to Xiaohei, those dozen or so years seemed more like a dozen months, or even a dozen days.

He was lively and energetic every day. Under Wuxian's care, he just about got enough... nutrition. He absorbed plenty of the essence of the sun and moon, too, but even so, he had only grown a little rounder and a little taller.

Every day, he still went around saying, “Good morning, meow~ Good afternoon, meow~ Good night, meow~ Meow meow~”

Wuxian didn't think anything was wrong at all. With a faint smile, she watched Xiaohei grow up, raising him day after day.

That is, until the day Xiaohei finished elementary school and was about to start middle school.

Xiaohei was still just as tall as he had been six years ago.
