I found a review that disliked this novel. Only a third or a quarter of it was about the plot, and the rest was used to describe it.
I quite agreed with it at first, but after reading one or two chapters, I suddenly realized that the main body of this novel is about obtaining food and cooking food under various fantasy food systems.
Can there be fewer adjectives?
Without describing it, can you appreciate the various characteristics or peculiarities of that kind of food?
If not, would you fill in the gaps of your inability to figure out specific situations by bringing in the Food Hunter anime?
Did you borrow something from that Japanese short TV series about the experience of drinking late at night or something like that? It feels like it.
This world view and actual food practice are very well integrated. Even though the system is not perfect, it is still very good. I personally like it.
