This is not a wish-fulfillment story.
This is a first-person account of the life of an ancient Chinese military commander, told in his own words.
It's a biographical historical novel adapted from historical sources, starting with Sima Qian's Records of the Grand Historian and drawing on works such as the Book of Han and the Book of the Later Han.
In simple terms, it's the kind of character biography you get when Records of the Three Kingdoms is turned into Romance of the Three Kingdoms. But I can't compare with Luo Guanzhong. I'm just a nobody.
Let's face it, even in plain language, most people probably don't enjoy reading history. There's no plot or imagery, and it's dry.
So I've tried to make these historical figures' stories more engaging, vivid, and grounded in reality, so everyone can at least understand them, follow along, and remember them.
Xiang Yu was uneducated, but ridiculously fierce, the kind of man who'd fight anyone who crossed him. Han Xin was starving and endured the humiliation of crawling between someone's legs for half a pig's trotter…
Read or listen for a while when you're at home with nothing to do, on your commute, or before bed. Think of it as a little entertainment.
There's plenty to read, with complete stories updated at around 10,000 words a day. I've already written 200,000 words ahead of time, so I'll start posting and see if people like it and respond well. If they do, I'll keep writing. Whether you like history or not, come give it a try.
Don't worry. You can tell other people about what you've read, and it'll still all be proper history. My novelization isn't making things up.
I won't write about some love triangle involving Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo, and Diao Chan. I wouldn't know how to write that anyway, so there's no need to worry.
I've already made a few videos on some platforms, and the response was decent, so now I'm trying my luck on Tomato.
If you enjoy the book, remember to like, comment, and ask for more updates.
I, Xiao Guai, only need to earn enough to buy a couple of steamed buns.
That's all. See you in the story!
