Thank Him for His Cruelty

I woke at dawn aching all over, with Zhou Yu'an, Jiang Lin's best friend, lying beside me.

My memories were only fragments: the drink Jiang Lin handed me, the scorching breaths, the disheveled sheets.

I fled in a panic and, consumed by guilt, left the feelings I'd kept bottled up for three years on the bedside table.

It was obvious that Jiang Lin had orchestrated this whole farce himself.

He drugged me and sent me to Zhou Yu'an's bed, all to secure an investment of fifty million.

But he got two things wrong:

First, Zhou Yu'an loved me more than life itself.

Second, I didn't love Jiang Lin anymore.
