A timid yet unhinged, laid-back female physician versus an unpredictable, tyrannical emperor
Yun Xiangrong versus Ji Heng
Ask around the streets inside and outside the imperial palace, and you’ll find out who’s really in charge.
I transmigrated.
The good news: I’ve landed in a job I know inside out, so no one will suspect a thing.
The bad news: The original owner was a fraud, and the tyrant has caught on. Now I’m about to be dragged away and executed.
Yun Xiangrong is a renowned medical expert, but who would have thought that on the first day after transmigrating into a book, she’d be sentenced to beheading for treating someone to death? Pin, you told me I was the luckiest person alive! So why did you give me such a disastrous start!?
“Your Majesty! Your Majesty, I can save her! If I fail, I’ll gladly become Imperial Physician Fu’s test subject!”
Three sentences were all it took to make the tyrant spare me.
Imperial Physician Fu: everyone at the Imperial Medical Bureau falls silent at the mention of him. He’s vicious and ruthless, the tyrant’s right-hand man. If you fall into the tyrant’s hands, at least your body will be left intact. If you fall into Imperial Physician Xi’s hands, there won’t be enough left for a whole corpse.
Yun Xiangrong thought that if she could just get through today, she could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Who knew the tyrant would start making trouble for her out of nowhere, giving her a demonstration of what it means to be unpredictable? Imperial Physician Fu keeps looking for an opening to use her as a test subject. With wolves ahead and tigers behind, all she can do is act like a fool.
But why did no one tell her that even a fool could end up becoming empress!? Tyrant, get out of my way! I want to go home!
The tyrant at first: “You’ve got a death wish, trying to assassinate me!”
The tyrant later: “If she wants to kill me, does that mean I did nothing wrong?”
P.S.
1. Both leads are each other’s only partners. Most of the women in the imperial harem were spies planted there, and the tyrant never touched them.
2. This is a one-on-one romance: a timid yet unhinged, laid-back female physician versus an unpredictable, tyrannical emperor.
3. The medicine and pharmacology in this story are made up by the author, so don’t overthink them.
4. The story is set in an entirely fictional world.
Nice! This is the second book by the author that I have read 💕
Why is this book not popular? How could it not be popular? So pretty. This is the first novel I have read continuously. Anthracene is right!
