Synopsis

From enemies to comrades-in-arms, the two gradually reconciled in life and death: Li Zhongfu saved a British officer during a bombing, Guo Fu was injured while putting out a fire, and he was awakened to the righteousness of his family and country because of China's declaration of war on Germany. The flames of war are also tempering human nature - Li Zhongfu met the Belgian girl Fanny, but reluctantly parted ways because of his commitment to Su Huizhen; Guo Fu fell in love with the Chinese girl Luan Pei and transformed into a real warrior; the Chinese workers used the Spring Festival celebration to integrate Eastern and Western civilizations and built the Great Logistics Wall with flesh and blood. At the end of the war, Li Zhongfu returned to China with an amnesty order and reunited with Su Huizhen, while Guo Fu took root in France and joined the anti-fascist battlefield. Half a century later, the dying Li Zhongfu returned to the Chinese Cemetery in Nolet, France, and stayed with Fanny, who had never married, until his death.
