I, the Lord of Genes

When the "Pandora's Box" of gene editing is completely opened, the world becomes a wasteland of synthetic organisms growing wildly. Human beings huddle behind steel barriers and regard all "non-original" life as a mortal enemy. Ling Mo, a genius biologist who was dismissed as a "madman" by mainstream academic circles, found his own divine realm in this wasteland. Deprived of everything, he possesses an ability that subverts the world's perception - deciphering and reprogramming biological genes. He does not hunt, but "tames". While others were shivering in the darkness, he wedged the genes of glowing jellyfish into the deformed vines, creating an ever-extinguishing "fluorescent tree" that illuminated the endless night. While the survivors are fighting to the death for a drop of fuel, his "Plastophage Bacteria" are decomposing tons of plastic waste and converting it into efficient bioenergy. He painted with genes, used flesh and blood as mud, and transformed the monsters that everyone feared into unique "living tools": the docile "Earth-Drilling Beetle" was his mount to conquer the earth, the fierce "Blade Mantis" was his most loyal guard, and the symbiotic "Web-weaver Spider" built the prototype of his city for him. This is the story of a man who was abandoned by the world and transformed the doomsday wasteland into a private "Pokémon Paradise". What he wants to build is not a simple survivor stronghold, but a biopunk city that coexists with all things, announcing to the old world that the "Creator" of the new era has arrived.
