When I woke up, I, Hui You, had become a ball of light energy in the Ultraman Universe, with no arms or legs?
I was overflowing with high-quality energy but couldn’t deal even a scratch of damage. Luckily, Ultraman King found me and brought me back to the Kingdom Planet.
“Little one, your energy is very pure, but you’re far too weak.”
King stroked his chin as he looked at me, then tossed me into the core of the Plasma Spark Tower. “Go on. Absorb as much as you can. The Land of Light can afford to keep you.”
So I had a good nap inside the Spark Tower. When I woke up, I heard that a troublemaker named Zero had tried to steal the Spark Tower and got pinned down and beaten by his dad. (I didn’t know that at the time.)
For some reason, the energy inside me suddenly went berserk. I slipped out and latched onto him. Only later did I learn this was called “energy binding.”
When I opened my eyes again, Belial was grinding Zero into the lava.
“Hui You? What the heck are you?”
“I’m your... power bank?”
I burrowed into Zero’s body and watched the ice axes on his head suddenly merge into one giant blade as his energy bar shot up.
“What the hell is this light blade?!” Zero was baffled.
So was I. It turned out I wasn’t just a power bank. I could upgrade equipment too?
From then on, Zero handled looking cool and fighting monsters, while I charged him up, boosted his defense, and increased his damage.
When he fought Belial, I stacked three layers of energy buffs on him. When he battled Darklops, I helped stabilize his energy circulation. When he stormed the Galaxy Empire, I maxed out the power of his beam attacks.
Zero: “Hui You, give me a billion more units of energy!”
Me: “...You’re going to drain me dry, hey!”
