The Tyrant’s Adorable Little Empress

[The carefree little tyrant of the palace vs. the cruel, sinister mad emperor] [Transmigrate into a book + both leads are chaste + palace intrigue + doting romance + mind-reading] On her eighteenth birthday, a tornado swept her into the sea, killing her on the spot! Thinking she'd made it to heaven, she hurried to report to the King of Hell, only to find herself transmigrated into the body of Mu Rongsui, an obscure and pitiful girl. By imperial decree, she was made Consort An. On her very first night in the palace, Consort Xiao found a flimsy excuse to sentence her to death. To stay alive, she fled her wedding with her maid, but unexpectedly ran into the emperor, who brought her back to the palace. * Bei Mohan was cold and cruel by nature. In the five years since he ascended the throne, he had taken countless consorts, yet never shown any of them the slightest tenderness. He had never even interfered in the harem's power struggles. That all changed when she entered the palace. He began making exceptions, stepping into harem affairs to stand up for her. She was lively by nature and never cared about saving face for anyone in the harem. Whenever she got into trouble, she'd look at him with such a pitiful expression that he had to clean up after her. What was he supposed to do? Just spoil her, of course! * “Your Majesty, Consort Xiao bullied me terribly today. You have to get even with her for me.” Bei Mohan said nothing, only watching her with a dark, unreadable gaze. Who in the palace would dare bully her? Even if someone did, she had never let herself suffer so much as the slightest loss. Seeing that he wasn't answering, Mu Rongsui wrapped both arms around the man's muscular waist and gave him a little shake, then cooed, “Your Majesty, Consort Xiao bullied me today. Punish her with a caning! Give her twenty strokes! Better yet, beat her so badly she can never leave Fenghua Palace again. Please?” “Then should I reward you with a few strokes first?” Mu Rongsui's almond-shaped eyes widened. She immediately let go of his waist, pulled a handkerchief from her clothes, and covered her face, pretending to cry. “Your Majesty, you don't love me anymore. And you said you'd protect me for the rest of my life...”
