Su Yi, a star-roaming castaway in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, scrapes by in space aboard a battered spaceship he found. One day, he accidentally captures an AI that calls itself the "Universal Temp Worker System." From then on, he's forced to take on all kinds of near-suicidal assignments: delivering takeout to a black hole, babysitting for the Insectoid Empress, and providing counseling to space pirates. Amid the chaos of his interstellar temp jobs, he discovers that the universe is being destroyed because someone left a "faucet" not quite turned off.
