A fictional near-future world, set in 2077. The Abyssal Echo deep-sea research station sits on the edge of Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench. Originally built to study tectonic movement and unknown biological communities, it has now been cut off from the outside world for 73 days. The crushing pressure, endless darkness, and isolation of the deep sea naturally breed despair. Meanwhile, an unknown force is corrupting the station from within, causing the laws of physics and the logic of living things to undergo bizarre distortions.
