Introduction to "Document World"
Here, "existence" requires proof and "action" requires permission - this is a world that is carefully woven with documents. From breathing to walking, from food and clothing to identity, every move must be tested by "document holding".
The "General Administration of Documents" is the absolute authority in the world. Among the 182 basic certificates issued by it, the gender certificate is the core "identity anchor" of an individual: the boy's certificate and the girl's certificate delineate the basic physiological attributes, and those over 18 years old can freely choose to switch (no surgery is required, only the certificate information needs to be updated); those under 12 years old are uniformly issued a "childhood certificate", and those aged 12 to 18 are "minor certificates", and the right to choose a gender certificate is automatically unlocked after adulthood. The more subdivided "transvestite certificate" requires a basic gender certificate as a premise. The holder of the certificate can legally wear clothing corresponding to the gender, breaking the solid clothing restrictions. Even the "handsome guy certificate" needs to pass a strict assessment - only those who meet the standards in appearance, proportion, temperament, and public recognition can obtain this metal badge marked "Appearance Confirmation."
Every step of survival is firmly locked by the certificate: when you go to the toilet, the scanner will verify your gender certificate and match the corresponding area; when walking, you need to carry a "walking permit" with you, which indicates the area where activities are allowed (you need to apply for a temporary endorsement when crossing areas); when riding a bicycle, you need a "bicycle driver's license", and when riding an electric vehicle, you need a higher-level "electric vehicle driving permit". The level of the certificate determines the roads and speeds you can drive on.
Even instinctive needs such as eating and dressing have been included in the document system: the "eating certificate" records your gastrointestinal tolerance.
