The Brothers’ Daily Discipline

Ten-year-old Cheng Xiaoyu is abandoned on a rainy night and taken in by seven young men. Chen Mo, Lu Xiao, and the others lay down strict house rules, using rulers, pointers, and other tools to discipline her rebellious behavior. From stealing candy and skipping school to cheating, every time Xiaoyu makes a mistake, she faces severe punishment. Yet through it all, she also feels the tenderness her brothers hide beneath their rules: after spanking her palms, Chen Mo secretly brings her an ice pack; Lu Xiao makes her run ten laps but keeps pace beside her the whole time; and Lin Muyang, the doctor, always carefully applies medicine afterward. When Xiaoyu runs away again after a misunderstanding, the seven search frantically through the night, finally embracing her in a rainy alley. Once their guardianship is officially approved, the prickly little girl finally learns to reach out and admit her mistakes, and the seven rulers are gradually replaced by a wall of certificates and awards.
