In the fictional city [Lost City], serial unsolved cases occur frequently. The cases seem to have no connection, but they hide the same mystery. Psychology professor Shen Jiafei, criminal police captain Zhuo Yanchu and genius hacker Gu Weichen came together under different clues and entered a series of interlocking and endless mysteries. They each carry secrets and are constantly drawn into deeper games. The novel unfolds with multiple storylines: the continuous disappearance of citizens, network hacker intrusions, the death of city officials, mysterious secret rooms, the novelist's code words, and the forgotten truth of the past, all pointing to a secret and huge organization-"Mirror Shadow Society". Everyone in the city may be a "person in the game." As the mysteries are revealed one by one, the protagonists also complete spiritual growth and self-salvation on the way to the investigation. In the end, all the threads converged, and the truth emerged: the source of all evil turned out to be a historical shadow from the Lost City's past.
