You Put Me on the Hot Search, I’ll Send You to Prison to Work a Sewing Machine

Yu Xi was a top-tier star known around the world. On the night she won the prestigious Pinnacle Music Award, she was shot dead by a fan of her rival and died on the spot. When she woke again, Yu Xi had arrived in a new world and become the Yu Xi of that world: the same name, the heiress to the richest family in City S, and a hopeless romantic. System: Host, you must save the male lead Gu Yanxiu from his tragic fate to stay alive. Otherwise, you will be erased and disappear forever. Yu Xi: Just how tragic is his fate? System: The heroine deceives him, takes advantage of him, and swindles him out of his money. In the end, he’s shot and killed while saving her. After his death, she quickly marries the second male lead, has his children, and lives happily with him using the male lead’s fortune. Yu Xi: Got it. I need to stop them from falling in love. To split up the leads, Yu Xi becomes a contestant on a singing competition where they’re judges, and even makes it to the top spot. When the leads attend a promotional event, Yu Xi wracks her brains to get herself invited too. When the leads appear on the Spring Festival Gala, Yu Xi isn’t famous enough to join them, so she makes a name for herself and gets the director to invite her. When the leads star in a movie together, Yu Xi barges in and manages to bump the heroine down from the female lead to the second female lead. To give the director the “loving look” he wants, Yu Xi rehearses with Gu Yanxiu. Gu Yanxiu: How are you supposed to date someone? Yu Xi: First, hold hands. Second, hug. Third, kiss. Yu Xi kisses the aloof movie star Gu Yanxiu first. To keep up the loving look, she hugs and kisses him every three days. Gu Yanxiu: You can’t take advantage of me for free. I’ll help you get into character, but you have to be my girlfriend. In public, they’re a loving couple; in private, they’re partners in crime. Before long, those hugs and kisses turn them into a real couple.
