A Century After the Dragons Fell, I Slay Gods with Dragonfire

Thousands of years ago, the Six Divine Swords pierced the darkness. With their mighty, radiant hands, the gods carved out the borders of the Six Kingdoms on the continent of Dali.

They said, “The radiance of the Six Gods blankets the earth, sowing hope throughout the world.”

Hundreds of years ago, humanity struck down the evil dragon from ten thousand meters in the sky. Its enormous drops of blood froze beneath the firmament, and a million rubies fell from the heavens.

They said, “This is the most painful victory in human history, and also its most glorious.”

Decades ago, humanity hung the head of the world’s last Dragon Tamer above the imperial city. From then on, the murderous madman who wore human skin was wiped from existence.

They said, “From this day on, no children will cry in the night. The Six Gods have once more bestowed blessings upon the people, granting them peace.”

In a blacksmith’s shop where sparks flew on a cold winter night, a boy slowly closed the history of the Six Kingdoms. He pulled on an old, dark-red robe, reached up to take the wooden sword hanging on the wall, and stepped out into the darkness of night.
