Synopsis

"The Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic" is the foundation work of ancient Chinese medicine and is known as the "ancestor of medical doctors." Written from the Warring States Period to the Han Dynasty, it is the earliest existing medical theory classic in China. It established a unique theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine and provided a steady stream of theoretical guidance and inspiration for the development of traditional Chinese medicine for more than two thousand years. It is not only a medical classic, but also an encyclopedic masterpiece that integrates the wisdom of ancient philosophy, astronomy, calendar, meteorology, biology and other disciplines. The whole book is divided into two parts: "Suwen" and "Lingshu", each with 81 chapters. "Suwen": focuses on the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine, health maintenance principles, causes and pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment principles, and the relationship between man and nature ("the correspondence between nature and man"). It systematically constructs the theoretical framework of traditional Chinese medicine, such as yin and yang and the five elements, Zangxiang meridians, qi, blood and body fluids, causes and pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment principles, etc. "Lingshu": also known as "The Acupuncture Classic", it focuses more on the detailed discussion of meridians and acupoints, as well as the principles and techniques of acupuncture therapy. It is the theoretical cornerstone and practical guide of traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture. It also contains rich knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology.
