Xing Zhui, a descendant of the mysterious Star Clan, arrives in Mondstadt carrying mysterious coordinates from the “Prime Star,” seeking to uncover the truth behind his people’s betrayal and erasure. His arrival shatters Mondstadt’s peaceful night and sets Barbatos, the Anemo Archon who protects the land, on edge. The Traveler, Ying, and Paimon are drawn into the events by chance and meet Xing Zhui beneath the statue of the Anemo Archon.
When Xing Zhui finds a scroll in the Knights of Favonius’ archive containing the truth about the “Starfall War,” a wall of wind traps him, and the Anemo Archon, Venti, appears. As it turns out, under Heavenly Principles’ coercion, the Seven Gods chose to sacrifice the Star Clan to seal away the fallen star. After the war, they erased all records of the Star Clan and altered the star chart of Celestia.
Just as the two sides face off, Abyssal monsters swarm in. They are Heavenly Principles’ pursuers, intent on stopping Xing Zhui from revealing the truth. Xing Zhui entrusts the scroll to Ying and asks her to go to Liyue and find Morax, the only god who did not take part in sealing the Star Clan back then.
As Ying sets out for Liyue, more secrets and dangers gradually come to light. Can she unravel the many mysteries surrounding the “Starfall War” with Morax’s help? Can she break Heavenly Principles’ shackles and clear the Star Clan’s name? The fate of Teyvat now rests, unbeknownst to all, on this adventure in pursuit of the truth.
