The Qin and Sword Subdue the Mysterious Heavens

Ten thousand years ago, foreign races from beyond the domain launched a massive invasion, severing the path to Emperorhood. The last Great Emperor of humanity, the Great Emperor Xuantian, led all the powerful cultivators of the Emperor realm to the Starry Sky Fortress to establish a defensive line. But the "Path to Heaven" leading to Emperorhood on the Xuantian Continent, also known as the Imperial Path, was controlled and corrupted by the foreign races and their agents. Any human prodigy with the potential to break into the Emperor realm was killed or harvested for their Dao fruits. Humanity dwindled, and the continent was divided and suppressed. The spiritual energy was tainted and siphoned away by the foreign races' formations, leaving humans at the bottom of society, reduced to food or slave labor. Their inheritance was cut off, and hope was all but lost.
