The Hidden History of Yuanling

After so many years, tracing back to the roots, it all started with receiving those three books in June 1995. At that time, the second grade of junior high school was coming to an end, so I started to study hard. I sent 120 yuan to order a set of teaching learning method books, but the book I ordered did not come. Instead, more than a month later, I received a package from another address (Xi'an, Shaanxi). There were three books in it: one recorded an ancient legend-like story; one was basically a scripture written in semi-classical Chinese - "Yuanling Heart Sutra", and the other was about the origin and related explanations of some magic numbers (spells). Most of the stories in the first book can be understood; the scriptures in the second book are all half-understood, and I just find them fun; the spells in the third book have been learned and done several times, but have not been practiced at all.
