Synopsis of A Helping Hand Between a Farming Family and a Hunter
Su He is a modern agricultural science student who, after an accident, transmigrates into ancient times as an orphan thrown out by her in-laws. With her little brother in tow, she takes shelter in a dilapidated temple outside the village.
Nearby lives Li Dashan, a deaf-mute old hunter who raises his granddaughter, A Yao, on his own. Seeing how pitiful Su He and her brother are, Li Dashan often brings them game and medicinal herbs. Grateful for his kindness, Su He puts her expertise to use, clearing land beside the temple and planting a special variety of rice.
When pests infest the rice fields and the villagers laugh at her misfortune, Li Dashan uses herbs he knows well to help drive them away. To thank him, Su He teaches Li Dashan and A Yao to grow vegetables and helps them build a greenhouse. But when a storm hits, the three of them work together to reinforce it and save all their hard work.
After Su He's rice harvest comes in, Li Dashan helps her find wild fruit suitable for brewing. Su He makes wine that proves a huge hit at the market, but it catches the eye of a local bully. Li Dashan fights the bully's men to protect Su He, while she cleverly brings in the county yamen's constable to punish the bully.
From then on, Su He, Li Dashan, and A Yao continue helping one another, growing their farming and hunting businesses and bringing prosperity to the whole village.
