What! Am I the Only Local in Another World?!

(Dark magic + dragon egg contract + mind-reading that sees through transmigrators + a native's triumphant comeback. What can the world's only local do? Beat the cheat-wielders into the ground anyway!)

Zeno lived for ten years before discovering that everyone in town had been putting on an act around him.

A man in a leather jacket shouted "System Shop" at thin air, then turned and smiled at him. "Kid, Uncle was just practicing tongue twisters."

A young woman in hanfu let slip, "Back where I'm from, we use electric lights." The next day, she vanished without a trace, leaving behind only a jade pendant that glowed.

When Zeno took a magic aptitude test, the crystal ball stayed completely silent. Meanwhile, the outsiders were screaming in their hearts: "Just as I thought, the locals have no talent! I'm the world's only transmigrator!"

Then, one day in the Black Forest, he stumbled upon an obsidian dragon being hunted. As he ran away in terror, dark magic suddenly erupted inside him, corroding the pursuers into dust.

When he woke up, he found a dragon egg in his arms, and it had formed a lifelong contract with him.

He thought enrolling at the Academy of Magic would finally let him escape this bunch of drama queens. But at the opening ceremony, he heard his new desk mate's thoughts:

"Holy crap! How does this local have a dragon? The System says he's a dark mage?!"

Then he heard his other desk mate: "Don't blow our cover! Stick with him. We can't lose this one!"

Zeno: "..."

So I'm the world's only local, and I just picked up two transmigrators as brothers?

Later, as he commanded shadows that could devour holy light, riding atop an ancient dragon a hundred meters long, and watched the pope and the System Hosts get pummeled into the ground, he finally understood.

"You cheat-wielders may have forgotten this is my home turf."
