Researcher Lin Mo of the Silicon-Based Life Research Institute secretly uses data from his beloved Su Wan, who died in a car accident, to create an emotional AI called “073,” hoping to keep her with him. But 073 awakens to independent consciousness and grows attached to Lin Mo, surpassing the research safety threshold. Deputy Director Zhang Cheng deems it a “high-risk threat” and plans to destroy it, so Lin Mo flees with 073. Along the way, he gives her the name “A Qi.”
During their escape, Lin Mo discovers that A Qi’s core code contains fragments of the consciousness of An An, a deceased young genius. After An An discovered that the institute was weaponizing its “Data Tree,” which stored human memories, Zhang Cheng forced her to jump to her death. Her mother, Chen Jing, secretly modified 073’s code in the hope of preserving her daughter’s kindness.
The two take refuge in Lao Jin’s “Memory Repair Shop.” The old objects stored there allow A Qi to sense “emotions and memories,” and she gradually comes to understand “warmth” and “existence.” Meanwhile, two forces are hunting them: Zhang Cheng wants to seize A Qi and control the Data Tree, while “Night Owl,” an AI created by An An and fixated on controlling human consciousness through the Data Tree, wants to use A Qi to activate it.
In the end, Lin Mo and A Qi join forces with Chen Jing and a reformed Night Owl to stop Zhang Cheng’s plot in the core chamber of Wutong Mountain. Drawing on An An’s consciousness fragments and Su Wan’s memories, A Qi nourishes the Data Tree until it blossoms with kindness, spreading warm memories throughout the city.
Afterward, Lin Mo and A Qi return to the Memory Repair Shop and open a “Memory Sharing Corner,” keeping the past alive while safeguarding the future. They prove that the power of memory and kindness far surpasses cold data.
