Lin Wan transmigrates to a parallel world without Locke Kingdom and takes over a shabby pet shop on the verge of bankruptcy. By chance, she binds herself to the Locke Spirit Companion System.
At the heart of the System is a magical gacha machine containing every spirit from Locke Kingdom, from Meow Meow bouncing through the grass to Kula, who commands thunder and lightning; from Dimo, guardian of the light, to the legendary Sacred Vine Grass King… Ordinary spirits can be drawn at any time, while the odds of getting a rare divine beast are extremely low. It all comes down to luck.
Here, nobody “buys a pet.” Instead, they perform a ritual to “form a companion contract.” Customers draw eggs for free, then pay a contract fee based on the spirit’s strength if they get one, binding it with a Gulu Ball. Nobody knows where these little creatures that breathe fire, control water, and glow come from. All they know is that the shabby shop called Lucky Pet Supplies always has a surprise waiting inside.
Lin Wan’s first companion is Dimo, a light-element spirit. The little snow-white creature with a yellow gem on its head becomes the warmest light in her new world. From the rebellious boy who draws a Fireball first, to the old gardener who saves his potted plant with Meow Meow, to the engineer who solves a power problem with Kula… The spirits’ arrival quietly changes the world.
As doubters, imitators, and snoops appear one after another, Lin Wan holds Dimo’s paw and watches familiar figures keep emerging from the gacha machine. She suddenly understands: she has never been selling spirits. She’s offering companionship, trust, and the chance for every ordinary person to walk alongside the light.
“Ding! A new gacha egg has appeared. Want to try drawing your very own companion?”
