Tomorrow's Wife

"No transmigration, rebirth, or golden finger; child bride; stepmother; disguises herself as a man to join the army; war; saving lives" Zhilu was sold to the Wang family as a child bride. Her future husband was a fool, and every day she had to look after him and clean up after him. There was always endless work to do, and she lived like a spinning top that never stopped. Even so, her parents-in-law beat and berated her at every turn. This miserable, oppressive life was unbearable, and she wanted to escape. But the world was harsh to women, and running away meant she would have to live as a vagrant or a beggar. Then one day, she met a man named Huo Chi, and her life changed from that moment on. But the realm was in turmoil, and the two were forced apart. When they met again, he was a revered great general, while she was a medical officer's assistant who had disguised herself as a man to join the army. Once peace was restored, they both laid down their armor and returned to the countryside, where they lived a simple life, working from sunrise to sunset.
