The End of the World? Zombies? I Just Want to Live

I've only read a few chapters, and it's a rare anti-conventional apocalyptic novel with really strong logic. For the time being, it seems that there are no zombie crystals or sudden awakening of superpowers, only information gaps and the survival instinct of ordinary people. The protagonist's calmness and complaints are particularly poignant. He is exactly what an ordinary person with military background, pragmatism and sobriety should look like. After reading it, I felt a little panicked. It wasn't because I was scared, but because I felt like "this thing seems really possible to happen." Awesome👍 I am tired of reading books about rebirth, superpowers, and systems. The protagonist is not a soldier or a killer. This book is really a rhythmic aesthetic that you can put down and appreciate slowly. After watching it for a long time, I unconsciously felt that I was actually on the scene. If I were really facing this situation, maybe I wouldn't be as good as the protagonist.

This is my first time writing a book. I will try my best to write it as perfectly as possible without any logical problems. I also hope that everyone can help me find problems in the text. There is no system, no golden fingers, no grandfather, not so many slaps in the face, and no girls shouting and hugging each other. I just want to express an apocalyptic outbreak and the living style of real ordinary people with flesh and blood.

When I was chasing this book, it happened to be raining continuously outside the window, which felt particularly appropriate. The kind of depression the author writes about is not a sudden collapse of the world, but a kind of wet, slow, breathless despair. The protagonist Chen Yiran is just like an ordinary friend around us who is a little serious and a little anxious, or even like ourselves. He has no superpowers and no mysterious background. The biggest cheat may be that he had a nightmare a few days before us, and then risked everything to believe it. Watching him calculating his savings and buying supplies, worrying about a decent weapon, racking his brains to convince his family... It was so real. It's so real that I can't help but think, if something like this happened to me, could I do better than him? I'm afraid not. What kept me awake the most was not the zombies, but the choices he made. Especially the part about "closing the building". While reading, I felt panicked in my heart, knowing that he was probably right, and I had no choice but to do that in order to survive, but I couldn't help but think, what if there was really a living person behind the door? This pull between morality and survival is particularly heart-wrenching to write. The phrase "I'm sorry, I just want to live" made me unable to recover for a long time. There is nothing heroic in this book. It is just the process of an ordinary person forcing himself into an isolated island in a desperate situation. It doesn't burn, it's even a bit "depressing", but I just can't let it go. You will be nervous together with him, scheming together, listening to the non-existent rain in the middle of the night, feeling terrified. If you have also thought about "what if the apocalypse comes" but feel that the aura of the protagonists is too fake, then this book is suitable for you. It won't give you the answer, but it will make you think a lot. After reading it, I silently checked the lockers and door and window locks at home.

It's not the kind of story that makes you happy, it's even a bit "blocking". But when you close the book, you will feel that there is something more in your heart, and the eyes around you will seem to be different. This is what a good realistic novel should be like: it doesn't provide answers, it just forces you to see the questions.

A very real book with very reasonable logic and no crazy settings. But you have to use your brain to read it. Not a cool article, but very cool. The number of words in each piece is very solid and very enjoyable.

It's okay. I really like the male protagonist. At least he's not toxic for the time being. I hope he doesn't fall apart later.
