Dad, You Can’t Even Read. Come Take Over the Family Business!

[Father and son switch souls, bringing their contrasting personalities with them + modern urban setting + a fresh premise + a story born from a sudden whim]

Before the soul switch

Lin Yuanzhou (the son) has just become the top student at school, only to be publicly accused of buying the answers by the student who used to hold first place.

Lin Shouren (the father) is a retired boxer who went into the gambling-stone and antiques appraisal business, and is buried in debt.

After the soul switch (the forms of address follow the soul-switched identities!!! This is important, so I'll say it three times (ง •̀灬•́)ง)

Conversation 1

Lin Shouren: “Dad, I've already set up my company. How are things at school?”

Lin Yuanzhou thinks, “School bully and top student both have the word ‘top’ in them. Not much difference.”

“Same as usual. Don't worry about me.”

Conversation 2

After seeing the grades, Lin Yuanzhou says, “Last time, my son scored 666. This time I got 66. I'm only short one six. That's fine, right?”

Lin Shouren: “Dad, if I remember right, you've finished your weekly test, haven't you? How did it go?”

Lin Yuanzhou: “Can't blame me this time, especially in Chinese. I know the author of that reading passage. He wrote it at home, so where would he get all that homesickness from?”
