Peering Into Fate Through the Mirror of Karma: I'm Both a Monk and an Immortal

A thousand years ago, the young monk Xuan Ji watched his childhood sweetheart, Princess Lin Jingshu, hang herself to escape an arranged marriage. Grief and rage turned him into a demon, but in the end, he was powerless to change her fate.

A thousand years later, his broken soul is reborn as a monk guarding an ancient temple. His memories remain, and his karmic ties are unfinished.

By chance, he obtains the Mirror of Karma, which can reveal past and present lives. In it, he sees the tragic fate that awaits Jingshu through nine reincarnations.

The Mirror of Karma can trace the causes and effects of past lives and pinpoint the calamities that befall the women he loves. It can also read feng shui, dispel evil spirits, and slay demons.

With the mirror, he sets out to find the woman he has loved through nine lifetimes. Along the way, he plays the pig to eat the tiger, defies fate, unravels deadly feng shui traps, and destroys every evil force born of karma.

Once powerless to save the woman he loved, he has now become the strongest protector among the city's supernatural adepts.

His task is to stop tragedy from repeating in every lifetime and save her from death, again and again.

He does not believe in fate or concern himself with reincarnation. He only wants to fulfill the words he left unspoken a thousand years ago: “I love you.”

In this life, he will use the power of karma to defy fate and protect her for all eternity.
