Seeds of Hatred

[Two male leads + equally matched + devoted to each other + sworn enemies + cultivation]

Revenge-story male lead x arrogant, evil antagonist who acts tough but is secretly soft. (They're both little bundles of misery who save each other.)

While dealing with his enemies, Lu Lin lets one escape: Ye Yunming. Lu Lin decides to use him.

Taking the assumed name Lu Ling, he gets close to Ye Yunming, cares for him, protects him, and plans to use him when the time comes. Once his revenge is complete, Lu Ling decides to slip away without a word. But Ye Yunming refuses to let him go, having realized he's fallen for Lu Ling.

Lu Lin hesitates. After all, a sea of bloodshed lies between them. He uses a faked death to escape, making Ye Yunming hate his enemy all the more. In the final showdown, Ye Yunming gets his revenge, only to discover that his enemy is the person he loves most. He falls apart.

Their ending seems set in stone, and their fate is to fight to the death. Lu Lin chooses to let go, but Ye Yunming refuses to believe in fate. He doesn't think that has to be their ending, and sets off to win Lu Lin back. (This is not a groveling-for-forgiveness story.)

One runs, one chases, and neither can get away.
