■ Included in Appendix 3 of the "Adoption Registration File": In the autumn of 2015, 18-year-old Shen Yan adopted 14-year-old Su Qi as the "only relative". There was a heavy rain that night, and the surveillance video showed him hugging the soaked girl back, holding the pink hair rope stained by rain and cement between the fingers of his right hand - there were traces of blood on the knot from scratching her skin when she struggled. Civil affairs records indicate that he is an "adult college student with independent guardianship capabilities." There is no mention of how he completed all expedited adoption procedures within three days.

■ On the top floor of the showcase, there is a platinum and diamond ring. The appraisal report shows that the inner diameter of the ring is 14.5Mm, which exactly matches the size of Su Qi's left ring finger. "Yours since 18" is engraved on the inside. Hidden in a dark layer at the bottom of the cabinet is an unsent letter from 2015. The handwriting is consistent with the label of the hair rope: "Qi Qi, when you find out, should you call me Shen Yan or brother?"
