It all started when Lu Rui'an accidentally clicked on an ad for a novel and read a book called "Shattering Mountains and Rivers".
To be fair, the writing and plot were pretty good at first. But the further the story went, the more absurd it became. The hero transformed from a kind-hearted, innocent boy into a cruel tyrant. Flaying, dismemberment, and being torn apart by chariots were all just appetizers.
The book's values were so twisted it made him sick. After finishing it, Lu Rui'an felt like his eyes were about to fall out. Furious, he raised his keyboard and cursed the author as an idiot.
He never expected the author to reply instantly: “Run your mouth and transmigrate into a book. If you think you can do better, then go ahead!”
Just like that, Lu Rui'an somehow ended up in the world of "Shattering Mountains and Rivers". He planned to flee with his family before the plot began, but an imperial decree cut off every avenue of escape.

Wasn't he the most miserable prince in the book, the one whose limbs were cut off, whose eyes were gouged out, and who was imprisoned in the imperial dungeon for life?
Since there was no avoiding it, Lu Rui'an decided to adopt the hero to save himself and change the ending of the book. He would make a long-term development plan and try to raise the hero into an upright, kind-hearted, well-rounded young man.
