The Mute Boy’s Secret: He’s Learning to Say My Name

[Healing + pure love + one-on-one romance + devoted to each other + happy ending]

A shy, self-effacing mute puppy-like boy VS a gentle, wealthy young lady

At seventeen, Xia Xing was a pampered heiress. The first time she encountered Mu Ye, he was being beaten by thugs in an alley. Bruised all over, he bit his lip and refused to make a sound. The abyss in his eyes stirred an inexplicable ache in her heart.

“I'm Xia Xing. What's your name?” She stepped in front of him, as if shielding a wounded little beast.

Only later did she learn that the man, three years older than her, was mute. He had grown up in the shadow of his parents' divorce and survived by taking odd jobs.

She kept seeking him out, bringing him candy and listening as he answered in writing. She had no idea that this silent man secretly saved his money and practiced pronouncing words in front of a mirror late into the night, repeating them thousands of times. Even when his throat bled, he refused to stop.

Until one day, his eyes red, he summoned all his strength to call her name. “Xing... Xing.”

Only then did she realize that the mute who always kept his distance had already given her his whole heart.

“A Ye,” she said, rising on tiptoe to kiss his scar. “You don't have to learn to speak. I understand all the tenderness in your heart.”

So what if their backgrounds were worlds apart? His palm had always been meant to catch her, his star.
