A Belated Explanation Makes Mr. Li Fall for Her Instead

[Scheming CEO and aspiring college entrepreneur + they can’t stand each other at first + he chases her after realizing what he lost + sweet romance + both are each other’s first and only + six-year age gap + couple]

Mr. Li had heard his niece mention Wan Qingci and immediately felt the girl was no simple character. He opposed his niece starting a business with her, but couldn’t stop them, so he went to inspect their little shop. His goal was to warn Wan Qingci to stay away from his niece or withdraw from the partnership herself. He warned her that not everyone was someone she could use, and that she couldn’t always take shortcuts.

So Mr. Li deliberately cornered her outside the restroom. Wan Qingci didn’t explain herself, even as he kept up his aggressive accusations. She understood that people would say she was reaching above her station by being friends with Xiyan, but she had never wanted to take shortcuts. Since he was Xiyan’s uncle, she could only swallow her grievances, and the two of them came to dislike each other intensely.

After learning the truth, Mr. Li schemed to invite his niece and Wan Qingci out to dinner, then cornered her outside the restroom once again.

“I can’t tell whether you have a weird habit of cornering people outside restrooms, Mr. Li, or if I just go to the bathroom too often and somehow offended you.” Wan Qingci was so bold she even made up rumors about herself.

“I misunderstood you before. I’m sorry.”

“Mr. Li, I’m not upset about it. Can we not talk here?” He was actually apologizing to her? Was this really Li Junmo?

“Sure. Let’s talk outside.” Only then did Li Junmo realize his behavior was a little creepy.

And so Li Junmo began his long journey to win her back...
