Matriarchy: The Trees of Nanxia

Tao Ying, a modern-day orphan, is just about to begin her life after graduating from university when she transmigrates by accident while rescuing a child from drowning, landing in a strange world where women hold power.

Here, women manage the household, earn a living, and build their careers, while men are generally expected to look after the home and depend on them. With nothing to her name, Tao Ying draws on the resilience and practicality she learned in modern society and starts with the simplest work. She doesn't understand the complicated rules of this place and believes only that hard work brings rewards. She might set up a stall to sell novel snacks she's come up with, or take odd jobs using her hands, slowly saving enough to get by.

Faced with unfamiliar social rules and the strange looks of others, she remains calm and self-assured, working hard to put food on the table and treating her neighbors with sincerity. She has no earth-shattering adventures and doesn't expect to become rich overnight. Tao Ying simply wants to make an honest living on this unfamiliar land, relying on her own hands to build an ordinary but peaceful life as a modern woman in a matriarchal world.
