The white wolf who cultivated for three hundred years in Heifeng Ridge achieved positive results, but on the day of his transformation, he was struck by thunder and lost his spiritual power. He fell into the snow of Xiyun Village and met the medicine girl Lin Yueniang. One is a wolf monster who does not understand the rules of the world and only knows how to bite to survive. The other is a mortal with good intentions who uses herbs as a blade. They are originally on different paths, but they are bound by an unexpected rescue.
Yueniang taught him to speak human language, use chopsticks, and observe the rules of the world, while he used his wolf instincts to protect her - blocking the butcher's machete, chasing away weasels that stole chickens, and even protecting her from rumors. But people's hearts are treacherous, far more dangerous than the mountains and forests: Xuan Qing, a wandering Taoist priest, saw the true identity of the wolf demon, and set up traps in the name of "eliminating evil spirits" to steal chickens, ducks, and children, blaming him for all the sins; the villagers' fear and suspicion surged in like a tide, and the warmth of the past turned into a sharp blade, piercing these alien confidants.
When the Taoist priest's dagger pointed at Yueniang, the white wolf finally broke free from all restraints and exposed his fangs - he could learn to be a man, but he couldn't watch the blood of his protector splattered on the spot. The wolf soul is sacrificed, the spirit grass gathers the soul, and three hundred years of cultivation are exchanged for life and death. Finally, it turns into the golden thread spirit grass that blooms every year in Heifeng Ridge, intertwining with the smoke of Xiyun Village, the laughter of children, and the low howling of wolves.
This is not a simple story of "human-male love", but a fable about "protection" and "growth": wolves learn to repay kindness, people learn to trust, and even the mountains, forests and vegetation are witnessing it - good and evil are never visible, but in the hearts that are willing to tear their fangs for each other and put aside their prejudices. As the wind passes through the Black Wind Ridge, I can still hear the words spoken back then: "I'm protecting you. It's not about the monster, it's about you and me."
