Laying Low in a Fantasy World, I Reach Sainthood Through AFK Training and Become Invincible by Surviving

[Cautious cultivation + not a power fantasy + lighthearted internet humor + no heroine + no angst]

Xiang Wusheng had an automatic AFK System, and his plans were perfectly clear: “Once you reach the right realm, you’ll be invincible. Showing off against people at your level is for fools.”

At eighteen, he planned to go out and get a taste of the world, leaving his virgin days behind. But when he entered the city, he saw Foundation Establishment cultivators fighting over a woman.

He happily stuck around to watch, only to be knocked down by the shockwave. He lay there bleeding from every orifice for a whole year before realizing that in the cultivation world, watching the action could get you killed.

When he went to watch a sect tournament, his jaw dropped:

One contestant shouted, “Take my Reincarnation Palm!” then slid across the stage and kicked his opponent’s legs so hard they buckled;

A female disciple stood onstage, batting her eyes and giving her male opponent such smoldering looks that she hoped he’d be too stunned to do anything but surrender.

On his way down the mountain, he stopped at an inn to rest and eat a bowl of noodles. He heard bandits telling a funny story about a man who had gotten handsy with their boss’s woman and then fled with his belongings. The moment he turned around, those same bandits blocked the door: “That kid’s dressed well. He’s bound to have valuables!”

Worse still were the sect rules. Not only was there no monthly stipend, but the missions paid so few spirit stones they were barely worth mentioning. Want to exchange them for a life-saving pill? First sign ten cultivation loan contracts. With compound interest, they could crush even an experienced cultivator.

Wrapped in bandages and huddled in a corner, Xiang Wusheng stared at the System screen and sighed: “I thought I could just lie flat with AFK cultivation. The tricks in this cultivation world multiply faster than my cultivation level!”
