Across Mountains and Rivers With You

The male lead, Lu Zheng, is a third-generation core member of a military and political family. His grandfather was a founding hero, and his father is an important military commander. He is exceptionally capable, steady and reserved, dependable, and deeply responsible. He has a touch of a soldier’s sternness, but shows the female lead a tenderness unlike anything he shows others.

The female lead, Shen Nianwei/Su Wanqing, also comes from a military and political family of comparable standing. She is knowledgeable and well-mannered, gentle on the outside but strong within, perceptive and intelligent, with ideals and ambitions of her own. She and the male lead grew up together in the same residential compound. Their romance is the main thread, deeply entwined with the tides of the times and their families’ responsibilities.
