In a hidden corner of the city lies the mysterious “Memory Pawnshop.” It offers deals that trade emotional memories for outward perfection, operating according to a cold “emotional value calculation formula.”
Su Wan, a woman plagued by anxiety over her appearance, steps into the pawnshop. Led on by the proprietor, she pawns fragments of her memories again and again in exchange for flawless beauty. She thinks she is merely giving up her long-buried “first-love memories,” unaware that she has triggered a fundamental rule: the “cascading memory-erasure effect.” Extracting a core memory causes every memory connected to it to collapse. The first love she pawned was the cornerstone of her love story with her fiancé, Lin Shen.
The price is far more brutal than she could have imagined: not only does she forget the past, but all of Lin Shen’s memories of loving her disappear as well. The fiancé who was tender with her just yesterday suddenly treats her like a stranger, asking what her engagement ring means.
Desperate to get everything back, Su Wan is forced to return to the pawnshop. She pawns more happy memories in exchange for clues, falling into a vicious cycle of “pawn, forget, pawn again.” Her appearance grows ever more perfect, like a wax figure, while her heart turns cold and hollow. Then, deep inside the pawnshop, she discovers a tube of ghostly blue memory labeled “Eternal Love: Lin Shen.” At the cost of her last remaining “memory of a heartbeat,” she secures a brief loan of it, struggling to dredge the buried truth from a flood of false data.
