This is the author's first book. Although there are some flaws in the plot and wording, the emotional line is very delicate. The transformation of Xiaoxing's mother and the reconciliation between Cheng Ye and his family make people feel very real.
It just ended too hastily, leaving many holes unfilled - Xiaoxing's mother didn't know Cheng Ye's identity yet, Cheng Ye's family accepted it too quickly, Cheng Ye's father didn't even appear at the end... Etc.
