The Tathagata sent four masters and disciples, along with the Eight Heavenly Scriptures and the Little White Dragon, east to Tang China to spread the faith. Along the way, they encountered all kinds of demons. After fighting them again and again, they discovered that every one of them had powerful backers, and no matter how much evil they did, they never faced punishment. Bajie and Sha Monk thought the world was far too corrupt. With no other choice, one hid in Gao Village while the other retreated to the Flowing Sand River. Only Wukong stood by justice, slaying demons and vanquishing evil as he escorted his master eastward to preach. In the end, Heaven could no longer tolerate Wukong, so it struck a deal with the Tathagata: We can guarantee that Tang Sanzang reaches Chang'an safely, but you must deal with that troublemaker, Sun Wukong. The Tathagata agreed. After a series of schemes, Wukong was defeated and imprisoned beneath Five-Finger Mountain, while Tang Sanzang abandoned him and went alone to Chang'an. After preaching there, he was made the Jade Emperor. He enjoyed a life of wealth and glory, then died of old age. And so 500 years passed. Sun Wukong finally escaped from beneath Five-Finger Mountain and, without a word, turned Heaven upside down. With no other choice, Heaven promised to transform Zhu Bajie into a human and make him Marshal Tianpeng, and to appoint Sha Monk Curtain-Rolling General, so long as they could kill Sun Wukong. In the end, heartbroken by the brothers turning against one another, Wukong went to Patriarch Bodhi to seek answers. He sealed away his cultivation, threw the Golden Cudgel into the Eastern Sea, where it became the Sea-Calming Divine Needle, then returned to Flower-Fruit Mountain to spend an ordinary life with his fellow monkeys. At last, he became a stone atop Flower-Fruit Mountain. It really is true: when you’re young, you don’t understand Journey to the West, and by the time you do, you’re no longer young. Classics are classics because whether you read them from the usual angle or the opposite one, you always find something new to take away and reflect on.
Very creative, next time I'll do it bit by bit
