The Heavenly Craftsman Forges the Three Kingdoms tells the story of Song Yingxing, author of Exploitation of the Works of Nature, whose soul transmigrates into the body of Song Yingxing, Inspector of Jiaozhou at the end of the Han dynasty. Using technology far ahead of its time, he reshapes the balance of power in the Three Kingdoms.
When the Yellow Turban Army lays siege to the city, he eases the food shortage with “fried rice cakes” and defends the walls with fire-oil incendiaries, making his first mark. Later, he joins forces with Shi Xie, building a solid foundation with mountain grain reserves and fire-oil refining techniques. He establishes the Shanhai Granary to stockpile food, launches maritime expeditions to explore overseas, and develops firearms such as thunderclap bombs and matchlock guns, while revolutionizing textiles, mining, and agriculture.
He uses food and technology to influence the battles of Guandu and Red Cliffs, helping Cao, Sun, and Liu keep one another in check, while expanding overseas and creating a trade network around East Asia. In the end, the Imperial Jade Seal appears in Jiaozhou. Cao Wei abdicates, and Song Yingxing takes control of Luoyang, names the new era “Tiangong,” and unifies the realm through technology, ushering in a new dynasty.
