After dying, she is reborn as Shen Nanyan, a woman unrivaled in medicine and poison. She raises the original owner’s daughter on her own, and grows so thin that she goes against the trend of admiring plumpness. In Qinghe Town, she is a little-known female doctor nicknamed “the ugly one.”

She never expected her peaceful life to be disrupted when Mu Yunting, who had laid down his sword and taken up the brush to become chief councillor, suddenly appeared.

She runs, he chases.

She tries her hardest to keep her distance, but the more she draws a line between them, the closer they get. Before she knows it, she’s drawn that line right into his bed as chief councillor...

He plans his moves carefully, uses threats and temptations, and even throws his dignity to the wind, all just to keep entangling himself with her.

“Nanyan, the one I’ve restrained my desires for day and night, afraid I’d scare away my beloved, has always been you.”
