Lin Mo, eighteen, is quiet and handsome, with a resilient, even obsessive streak beneath the surface and the potential to become dangerously unhinged. Top scorer in the national college entrance exam, he comes from a poor family. World: Beneath the surface of a modern city, either the fictional “Fog City” or “Abyss City,” lie rifts into the Threshold Realm. Their power seeps out, twisting reality and spawning urban legends and bizarre incidents.
